Croatia: a country filled with tradition, stunning nature, historic cities, and crystal clear water along its coves and beaches. Croatia has always been one of the destinations that attracted travelers worldwide to see its rare beauty. (Even before Game of Thrones made the city Dubrovnik go viral.) From beaches and islands along the Adriatic coast to mountains inside the country, Croatia offers a range of possibilities for everyone.
The best time to travel to Croatia depends, as always, on what you’re up to do. May to October is the best time to enjoy the sun at its fullest for a summer beach trip. Suppose you’re just coming for some sightseeing. In that case, it’s great to also do that in the less crowded summer months, like in April or October/November, for example. Since the mountains also offer an excellent skiing possibility in the winter months, you might also consider a ski-trip to Croatia.
Croatia is an excellent Roadtrip destination, and getting around by car is comfortable and absolutely recommendable. If you’re not already entering the country with your vehicle, you can choose to fly to 9 different Airports. The most common ones for tourism use are Zagreb (ZEG), Split (SPU), Dubrovnik (DBV), Pula (PUY), and Zadar (ZAD). Taking the bus is an excellent alternative to the car. The connections are good, especially when it comes to bigger cities. If you want to explore the country and its islands a little off the beaten track, a car is definitely the better option.
