Austria is located in the heart of Europe and quite small, so usually people haven’t heard of it yet. Fun fact: As an Austrian abroad telling somebody where they’re from, they are often mistaken as being from Australia. But Austria has so much to offer and here’s what you should know before you go.

When should you go?

How do you get around?

Well, that totally depends on what you’re planning to do. It is a year-round destination to travel to but if you wanna go skiing you should go in the wintertime (obviously), for hiking it’s best to go in the springtime or autumn. During the summer months, you can best enjoy the lakes and beautiful cities like Vienna or Salzburg.

Austria has five airports that you can choose to fly to. If you’re just planning on staying in the City you can totally go by train as the trains and busses are frequent and safe in Austrias Cities. In case you’d like to go to the Mountains a car would get in handy as you might not reach all of those areas with public transportation.
